GRANTS AND RESEARCH

As of September 13, 2004, the Grant site is accepting Letters of Intent and subsequent applications for the 2005 Funding Cycle.

Welcome to the NAAR Research homepage. To date, NAAR has committed $21.1 million to fund more than 200 autism research projects, fellowships and collaborative programs worldwide - more than any other non-governmental organization. This funding includes support for the Autism Tissue Program and research partnerships with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Our goal is to identify and support promising pilot studies in the hope that results from these efforts can be leveraged into publications or additional support by government or other funding agencies. NAAR is proud of our success stories as many projects we supported over the years have publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and NIH and other funding support as their eventual outcome.

Our funding cycle typically begins in mid-September as requests for proposals (RFP) for various programs are published. Before submitting an application for research support, an applicant must submit a letter of intent briefly describing the project. Depending on whether a letter of intent is deemed to meet NAAR's funding priorities, the investigator will be invited to submit a formal proposal. All proposals are carefully reviewed by our distinguished Scientific Advisory Board along with guest reviewers when additional areas of expertise reviews are required.

For deadline dates, please see links below.
